Found a cool little calculator that told me, if I kick up my exercise from light to aggressive, which I plan to do, and if I decrease my current calorie intake, which I also plan to do, I can lose a desired 50lbs around October. September is my 10 year Reunion so that is really the goal but having most of it gone by then is still pretty good. Excited to get started. Good things to come!

Can't stand it anymore!
I will admit, my weight is My fault. I never lost the baby weight in between my kids and have continued to just let it pile on. I am at the heaviest I have ever been and other body parts are beginning to suffer because of it. My feet have been killing me lately and I can only attribute it to my weight. So, I am starting a personal challenge. I am not Catholic and I know Lent has passed but I am challenging myself to start my diet and exercise and stick with it for 40 days. No more soda. I have informed my husband, it is banned, no matter how much I may need the caffeine one day. I am starting on Monday. I can't be this heavy anymore. I have a full life ahead of me to live for myself and my family. I need to be healthier, for MY sake. I am also going to try to post weekly my progress. Time to take charge of my life!

Enough is Enough!
I know I gave up on losing the weight and updating the blog. I failed myself last year. It seemed to be an insane year and with that came a lot of comfort eating. I am the heaviest I have ever been while not pregnant. I am huffing and puffing and unhealthy. So I am officially declaring, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Some of my failure has been the fear of being lighter. As it doesn't make sense because I am not really comfortable being so heavy, I am comfortable being so heavy and hiding behind big clothes. It is my personal challenge to lose this weight. I have done it before, I can do it again but this time go all the way. I have been watching my friend on facebook for the last year working her butt off and now it's my turn. We both have the same amount of kids, the same ages and she is at her pre-first child weight. It is time to be healthy because my kids are only going to get bigger and more active and I NEED to keep up. I have slowly started this week because I am still fighting off some sinus junk but I am starting Sunday the 15th. It is time to get more energy, and hopefully by the end of the year, a new wardrobe ;) I can't live life like this well. Obviously I have done it already but it has gone on for too long. So here it is the beginning of a new, healthier life. Starting Sunday, I will be reporting my weight, exercises and feelings because trust me there will be feelings...there is always a psychology behind weight and I fully expect to have to face mine. So to all of you who have made a resolution, let's stick to it, as difficult as it may be, for the sake of ourselves and our families, BE HEALTHY!

Stroller vs. Bike Trailer converted.
Walking to school yesterday led me to find that our used double stroller has been used to the max. We bought it used which didn't bother us and we have put it to some good use too. The back wheel fell off a couple of times. Luckily, I was able to reassemble it without much effort so that I could get home. Today I used the bike trailer with the stroller bar attachment. Not only was pushing the boys SOOO much easier in that, but I found that I was walking in a better position. Standing more upright and able to tighten my core while walking was much easier. So, that will be our mode of transportation from now on. It was a great walk and I really loved being able to feel in a better position and I have much more energy coming home today than I have when I was using the stroller. It is going to be a productive day. Stay Healthy!

I know, I know...
So it may have taken me forever to finally do what I have been saying I was going to do but it has started. Granted my son is almost a year old now but there is a new change this year. My oldest is in Kindergarten and her school is within walking distance. So, everyday I push my sons in the double stroller and walk my daughter to school. Roundtrip it's about a half hour and I push myself to walk faster on the way home to really get the blood pumping. I have no idea of my weight at the moment because I can't find my Wii Fit disk for the Wii Fit board. Once I find that, then I can start seeing improvements or not. I could buy an old fashioned scale, but who really wants that lying around? At least the board is used for games as well and therefore not intimidating. I do know that I am back on Slim Fast as well. It is nice to just have the shake in the morning and at lunch. There is so much going on in the morning anyways, it shaves some time in the chaos of getting everyone ready. So, the updates will ensue, as I try to get this weight off and looking better than I did in High school because my 10 year reunion is coming up next year. Can't believe it's been 10 years already. That's the update. Here are some things I have noticed since walking to school, my skin seems to be more hydrated, not as dry as it once was and my rings are loosening up on good days. Other days depending on the humidity, my hands swell after a work out but still, good things are on their way. Happy Exercising!

Minor Setback
So apparently food and I are having a bit of a problem separating. It seems I started my workout and diet this week and was quickly reminded that I am a mother of three. All of the sudden I have had the immense urge to eat whatever I want and it seems kind of uncontrollable. My plan is to start again next week with a more diligent attitude. I am thinking that I just got a snapshot of my eating and emotional connection. I don't want to eat myself huge so I need to work on working out to relieve stress, which just trying to find the time to workout can be stressful. Anyways, I enjoyed working out last year and I felt good doing it, especially after I began to see results. I just need to retrain my thinking again and make sure I find the time to get some sort of exercise in no matter how little. It happens to everyone, I am not worried. Keep it up, it only gets easier!

Back in the Saddle!
Well, it has been a year, Baby was born and recovery is completed. I allowed myself the indulgences of the holidays since I was recovering at that time so my weight is about where I started. And the new beginning number is 225! The goal is to lose 50 lbs or more in the next year and to successfully keep it off. I figure 25 gets me down to 200 and another 25 gets me to 175. That should be a nice comfortable weight to live at. So after feeding Baby this morning and playing around a bit he gets sleepy and takes a short nap. Naptime meant Mommy could attempt a workout. I got 25 minutes in before Baby woke up and absolutely needed to be picked up, (he was crying a little at the end of my cool down, sorry love). Even if I can only get 15 minutes each time, it will be something, it just means I work out more times a week. I feel good and happy that I was able to get some work started on reshaping my post baby body. Here's to a new year and a healthier family! You know what my husband wanted for Christmas? A gym membership and to go with that he got workout stuff. I am so proud of him for doing this. Now we can live healthier for our family!
